First working with the National Youth Choir of Wales ten years ago, Ralph is back with them as Musical Director for the 2010 and 2012 seasons.
Since it was founded in 1984, the choir has built an impressive reputation with its international and national tours and recordings. They regularly commission new music as well as exploring an international choral repertoire, though it is particularly at home, of course, with Welsh music. Members of the choir are aged 16 to 21 years and come from all parts of Wales. They have occasional weekend courses, but most rehearsals take place in one week during the summer, followed by a series of concerts.
Recent performance highlights include concerts in London, Berlin, Leipzig, Paris, Vienna and many locations througout Wales. They have also featured in the BBC Proms with the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales.
